How to Bookmark a site.

1. If your students are in Internet Explorer, go to favorites,

2. add to favorites,

3. and then save.

If this is the case then

If you are on Netscape

2. Add Bookmark

3. It will ask you to "Create in" a folder.

To add to a new folder:

1. Go to Bookmarks

2. File Bookmark

3. Click on "New Folder"

4. Have students type in their name

5. Click on "OK".

Assessment/Extensions

Some children may want to consult with their parents before definitely deciding on a project so I give them a few days to come up the final project. This then becomes part of their homework.

At the next bi-weekly conference I have them tell me their projects and I log them into my grade book for two reasons:

1. I can monitor how many children are doing similar projects. I prefer that each child do something unique, however there will be a few duplicates.

2. It is easier to determine if students are making adequate progress at our bi-weekly conferences, if I know what each student it working on specifically. I can also help them with materials or other issues if I have a record of each students' project.
