¨     CLASS ACTIVITY: Complete School Clothes Budget Online Activity, which lasts about 2 periods (45 – 50 minutes), at http://score.kings.k12.ca.us/lessons/shoppinglist.html. After you have finished the activity, a class discussion will be held.

 

¨     HOMEWORK:

Ø     Track your individual expenses for a week. In Excel, create a table with the headings for day, date, amount of expenditure, and item or service purchased.

Ø     In Excel, create circle/pie graphs and analyze how you spent your money.

·        What percentage did you spend on snacks, clothing, beauty or school supplies, transportation, gifts, or entertainment (movies, CDs, …)?

·        Were all the purchases necessary?

·        Were any purchases frivolous (unnecessary)?

·        Were any purchases discounted or on sale?

·        Are they satisfied with their purchases?

·        Were there any unusual expenses/events that week?
