Billions of Bubbles
Objectives:
Students will participate in observational investigations in order to recognize that scientists repeat experiments to verify results.
Students will use a graph to represent results of science experiments.
Time Required:
Two-one hour sessions

Materials:
Several containers for water
Water
Different kinds of liquid soap (bubble bath, hand soap, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, shampoo, etc.)
Large Bubble Bottle cutout: Make a bubble bottle cutout out of bulletin board paper with two columns. Label one column with YES and the other with NO.
Story: Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere by Melvin Berger and Dwight Kuhn
Advanced Preparation:.
Fill containers halfway with water.
Label each container with a different kind of liquid soap.
Mix 1/8 cup of each soap into its corresponding container.
Have paper towels nearby for spills.

Evaluation:
Use the Performance Evaluation to assess student's effectiveness during experiment.
Extension Activity:
Students can complete Bubble Fill (number order sheet).
Students can visit bubbles.org to play some bubble games.
Home Learning:
Students will draw a picture of the experiment and if they are able write a sentence of what occurred.
