Putting it all
Together
Objective:
Review parts of speech in unit and
Materials:
Chart paper, assorted color markers, computers with Internet access.
Introduction:
Part 1:In preparation, place 5 chart papers up in various corners of
the room. Ask students to tell all the parts of speech studied thus
far. Go around the room and each time the class says a different one,
write on one of the chart papers. Explain the "Carousel
Activity": Each table/group is going to have a different color
marker. Each will begin at one of the chart papers and write all of the
words they can think of for that part of speech. After one minute, teacher
will call time and the groups will rotate to the next chart paper. After
each table/group has had a turn at each chart, charts will have words in
everyone's color and groups can read off the words they wrote out loud to the
rest of the class. Each table/group should be given a chance to read what
they wrote to the rest of the class. This will be a good opportunity to
share and review parts of speech.
