Bartering for a Living
Duration:
● Two one hour sessions
Objectives:
● students will understand the concept of bartering.
● students will explain the difference between goods and services and will describe how people are both buyers (consumers) and sellers (producers) of goods and services.
● students will complete the Economics Research Worksheet in collaborative groups.
Materials:
● Computer with Internet Access
● Library books
Barter Debt Credit Saving Money Self-sufficient Interdependent
Activities:
● Students will research colonial forms of bartering using online resources as well as books in print.
● Collaborative groups of students will complete the Economics Research Worksheet.
Assessment:
● Student participation in group discussion and collaborative assignment.
