Objectives:
Students will identify and copy simple patterns.
Students will identify pattern units and extend simple patterns.
Students will create simple patterns.

plastic spoons, forks and dishes (each item should be different colors: the spoons one color, the forks one color and the dishes one color))

Procedures:
Evaluation:
Observe student interaction/cooperation in groups. Were students able to form patterns in groups and/or individually? Were students able to explain the patterns they created?
Students will choose two different patterns they have created using the connecting cubes and color them exactly as they have designed them onto the cube pattern worksheet.
Extension Activity:
Have students use KidPix to create patterns using the stamps.
Students can play Which One Comes Next? using characters from Dr. Seuss' stories.
Students can play Music Patterns. Here students use sounds to make patterns and are able to listen to the patterns they made.
Students can play with Alfy's Coloring Book. Students are allowed to make designs by stamping shapes of various sizes and colors. Students can create all sorts of geometric patterns.
Students can help Salt and Pepper make Picture Frame Patterns. Click on The Blues Clues and then on games.
