FAST FACTS ABOUT LINE GRAPHS
EVERY LINE GRAPH HAS:
a title
two sides (the vertical and horizontal axes)
descriptive labels for each side (or axis)
a scale calibrated to suit the data (by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 25s, etc.)
FACTS:
Points on a line graph are connected by line segments.
A sloping segment indicates change; the steeper the slope, the greater the change.
From left to right, a rise indicates increase; a downward slope indicates decrease.
A horizontal (or flat) line segment indicates no change.
