FAST FACTS ABOUT BAR GRAPHS
EVERY BAR GRAPH HAS:
a title
two sides (the vertical and horizontal axes)
descriptive labels for each side (or axis)
a scale calibrated to suit the data (by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 25s, etc.)
FACTS:
Bars can be vertical or horizontal.
The tallest bar represents the greatest amount; the shortest bar corresponds to the least amount; bars that represent identical quantities are the same length.
Bars may touch or be separated.
Double bar graphs compare two related sets of data on one graph.
