2. The students will be encouraged to research how many types of webs there are. One good site to visit
    is Web Spinning Spiders.
3.
The students will then choose a web to illustrate and label. Students can visit Spider Web to observe
the step by step process of how an orb spider creates its web.
4. Next the teacher will help the students make their own web using string, tacks to hold the string in
place, and glitter glue to give the web shine.

Evaluation

The teacher will assess the completed web and compare the labeling to see if it meets the criteria of that particular web.

Home Learning Activity

The students will write a description of the spider’s web they are observing at home in their Observation Log

Extension Activity

Students will create a model of the spider that uses their particular web. The students can use construction paper or play dough to make the model. Students can also make a one-dimensional spider model using the paint/draw application of a word processing program. Students can view pictures of spiders at Yahooligans/Animals.
