Spider Resource Form
1. The teacher will review the
information the students have been given about spiders. Next the students will
be asked to get the facts from this information.
2. The students can research
spider facts at several Internet sites. The teacher should bookmark these sites
in advance for the students to explore.
3. Some good sites are
Yahooligans- Insects this is a great search
engine for students and has great information about spiders

State University- Spiders in and Around the Houses
learn about the different kinds of spiders

to learn more about spiders and participate in online activities
4. The students write the
facts they researched on the Spider Fact Sheet
page.
5. Students will make an entry on their Observation
Log.
Evaluation
The teacher will evaluate
the Spider Fact Sheet.
The teacher will review the
K-W-L
chart for any additional information the students have added.
The students will observe their spider at home and apply the facts they researched to their spider. Next the students will record the characteristics of their spider in their observation log as well as any facts that fit their spider.
Extension Activity
The students will be asked to provide additional web sites to explore and/or titles of books to add to the classroom research library. The can use this Spider Resource Form.
