ABC's of
Dinosaurs
Objectives:
- Students will develop
an ABC Book using KidPix Productivity software to create a multimedia slide
show applying all they have learned about dinosaurs.
- Students will go on a
virtual field trip to find information.
Time Required:
Materials:
- KidPix CD-Rom
(similar multimedia presentations software can be used)
- Science Journal
- K-W-L Chart
Procedures:
- Revisit K-W-L and
complete with all information students have learned about dinosaurs.
- Students will work in
groups. Each group will have 4 to 5 letters assigned to them.
Groups will develop an ABC Class Book. Groups will then use the
letters that were assigned to them to create a KidPix slide show.
- Print out coloring
pages of dinosaurs from Enchanted
Learning
- Read up to the minute
stories about dinosaurs at Dinosaur
Daily News
- Using desktop
publishing, have students write a newspaper article about a dinosaur with
"who, what, why, where, when and how."
- Edit and publish into
class Dinosaur Newsletter using a program such as The Student Writing
Center.

can download and print out. All you need are scissors and glue.

Home Learning:
- Students will create
a dinosaur diorama out of a shoe box. They can use plastic, clay or
rubber dinosaurs, real greenery, plastic or silk plant or simply make things
out of paper.
Field Trip:
- Students will go on a
field trip to the local Museum of Science or Museum of Natural History.
