Use input devices (e.g. mouse, keyboard, remote control) and output devices (e.g. monitor, printer) to successfully operate computers, VCRs, audiotapes, and other technologies.

The students will practice using the mouse and keyboard by exploring and interacting with multimedia community helpers based software.

Use a variety of media and technology resources for directed and independent learning activities.

 

The students will use digital cameras to take pictures of community helpers during Career Day.

 

The will also make “Thank You” awards using drawing and writing software.

Use developmentally appropriate multimedia resources to support learning.

After reading the story of the Jolly Postman, the student will imagine that he is visiting their neighborhood.  They will then create a simple route for him to follow using clustering software. The routes can be in the form of a circle, square, triangle or rectangle.

Kidspiration Software

Create developmentally appropriate multimedia products with support from teachers, family members, or student partners.

The students will create community helpers web pages to share what they have learned in this unit.
