Spreadsheet Directions Using Claris Works

• Open the Claris Works folder
• Double click the Works icon
• Double click the spreadsheet icon

Entering Text labels

• Click the cell you want to contain the text
• Type the text
• Click the enter box or press the Enter key, tab key, or Return key

Selecting Values

• To highlight a single cell- click the cell
• To highlight one row or column- click the row or column heading
• To highlight many rows or columns- drag from the first row or column heading to the last one you want

Formatting Text

• Highlight the cells
• From the Format Menu choose Font, Size, Color, Style or Alignment

Creating a Chart

• Highlight the section of the spreadsheet you want to chart
• From the Options Menu choose Make a Chart

To Change the Chart Type

• Choose Modify Chart from the Options Menu or double click the chart to make changes
• In the Chart Type box, choose the type of chart you want. Click OK
• Select one of the other categories to modify the legend and add titles
