Lesson 7
The Water Cycle Slide Show

Objective:

The students will demonstrate a knowledge of the water cycle and its individual steps.

Materials:

Procedure:  (Three to Four days)

1. The teacher will prepare a lesson on using Kid Pix.
2. Students will plan  and create their own  animated versions of the water cycle using  Kid Pix  Slide Show Planning Sheet.
3. Have students show water cycle with one background. Illustrate the water's role in each frame. Be sure that the narration includes a clear explanation of what is happening. Use arrows to show the direction of the water's flow.
4. Print slide show using a Poster Printer.

Evaluation:

The students will be able to illustrate and explain  the water cycle:
Water is an important part of our ecosystem. Living things need it to survive, and it helps shape and move the solid Earth via erosion.
Clouds are part of the chain that keeps water cycling through all parts of our planet-oceans, land, and air.
Water evaporates from the oceans into the atmosphere.
The atmosphere then carries the vapor elsewhere, until conditions allow clouds and precipitation (rain or snow) to form.
The raindrops or snowflakes then fall to the Earth. Much of the water striking the land then returns to the oceans via rivers (or sewer systems), starting the cycle all over again.
