The Water Cycle
Objective:
The students will recognize that:

clouds form when the air meets cooler air

rain forms from water drops in clouds
Materials:

The Golden Book Encyclopedia
CD Rom or similar encyclopedia CD ROM or
visit
Encylopedia.com
and type in the word "cloud"

Use a TV viewer: the TV viewer is a cable that allows you
to connect the computer to the TV so it serves as a big monitor.
Procedure:
This activity can be developed as a whole class using
a TV viewer or in small groups.
1. Open The Golden Book Encyclopedia
2. Click on Questions.
3. Select Weather
4. Click on How is a Cloud Formed? Select Cloud
5. Click on the robot to listen to the article.
6. Click on paper and pencil icon to write most important
facts to remember.
Evaluation:

The students will publish their computer journals about how the clouds
and the rain are formed.
Home Learning:

Students will write to their EPals and compare
weather conditions. EPals can be local, national or global.

Create a Water Cycle Word Search

Choose the type of puzzle- word search

Type in words: cirrus, stratus, cumulus, cumulonimbus,
altocumulus, altostratus, nimbostratus, stratocumulus

Create the word search, clip art can also be added, go back to
the Clip Art screen and click on Add clip art to your puzzle
