Learning Center
PROCEDURE
1. Students
will brainstorm what are sources of energy (Friction, Solar, Nuclear, Electrical)
2. Divide
students into groups and assign each group a different form of energy to investigate. Each student within the group will have a job to do
such as Investigator, writer, picture scanner, etc.
3. Students will search at The Energy
Story and
Brain
Pop
4. The teacher will have provided a center with various books, magazines and other resources for the students to research.
5. Each
group will organize and present their findings to the class. They
will have a choice
of creating the following, using pictures cut and pasted from the internet

program.
6. The final projects will be available for students to use as a resource.
ONGOING
ACTIVITIES
a. Scavenger Hunt (finding answers to questions and copying and pasting
pictures to create the collage).
b. Writing responses in Science Journals to experiment observations
and other information researched that day.

Sources Then and Now, read and write to tell how we use these types of energy in our home and
at school.
