Objective Three (3): list and describe three (3) major cloud shapes.

There are four (4) Activity Alternatives with corresponding Reporting Alternatives.

You must do at least two (2) pairs of the activities.

1. Listen to the summary audiotapes of the  Weather and Climate textbook.  Topic: Classifying clouds (Tape four (4)).  For further information, use All Together Weather computer program  (disk two (2)).                                              (Auditory)

1. Prepare an oral presentation that describes the various cloud formations and the heights at which they are found.

2. Using various resource materials, find drawings and pictures of various cloud formations.  Identify these formations, the height at which they form, and the conditions under which they begin forming.                                           (Visual)

2. Prepare a chart that examines the information you obtained on cloud formations and present it to the class.

3. Using various resource materials, find drawings and pictures of various cloud formations.  Trace and/or draw these illustrations.  Design labels for these cloud formations and a key information box describing the cloud formation and the height at which they form.              (Tactile)

3. Using your created materials, prepare a bulletin board that describes and illustrates the various cloud formations.

 

4. Using your hands, determine the size of clouds and then determine what type of cloud formation you are viewing.

 

     Fist-sized – cumulus cloud

     Thumb-sized – altocumulus cloud

     Little-fingernail sized –

          cirrocumulus cloud        (Kinesthetic)

4. Video tape your exercise and present the tape to the class.
