Indonesian Clothing

The traditional form of clothing is a skirt called a sarong or kain. This consists of a long piece of cloth usually covered with a design. On formal occasions a longer form of the sarong called Kain Panjang is worn. Indonesian women do not wear veils but may carry a shawl, men wear caps or cloths on their heads. Men often wear trousers but also wear the short skirt.
