Effective teaching is the key to student achievement, but how do we keep effective teachers in the classroom and best support them in order to provide the highest quality education for all students? Teachers Network ceased operations on March 15, 2011.  For 30 years, we have pursued our “by teachers, for teachers” mission with initiatives relating to continuing teacher education, teacher leadership, professional networking and the dissemination of curriculum best practices. Through our programs during these years, we have interacted with more than 1.5 million teachers and 40 million students. Unfortunately, the recent economic downturn has left us without a level of ongoing funding that would allow us to keep our doors open. Our biggest accomplishment over these 30 years is the creation of the wonderful community of educators that all of you who are reading this compose. To you, we express our gratitude for all of the contributions and support you have given our organization. Our legacy to you will remain in our website, www.teachersnetwork.org, which will live on, although without its interactive attributes. We hope your continued access to our materials through the website will encourage each of you to promote the “by teachers, for teachers” culture and community you and we have maintained all these years.

"What will keep me in teaching is that I feel that I can continue to make a difference in education. And when we’re given the tools and the training then I feel that I can keep learning more. That’s the beauty of teaching; you never stop learning." – Renny Fong; 12 years; Elementary School Information Technology
