How to Use the Internet in Your Classroom: Lori Mayo
"Though computers are uncharted waters for many of us, our students have grown up with them. They know much more than most of us and are able to solve technical problems that we can't even begin to understand. And they love the new shift in power."

A former student and myself.

Jamaica High School
Jamaica, New York

I am a staff developer in English for the Queens High School District Office (NYC Board of Ed). I taught English at Jamaica High School, in a wired classroom, and I believe that technology positively affects student engagement and performance. My students kept webfolios and portfolios on the web-housing all their writing for the term.

Providing an authentic audience for writing, the Internet is a powerful tool.
