"The more I
worked on it (WebQuest), the more I realized what a great teaching,
learning, and assessment tool a WebQuest could be."

Linda Kuzyk
My name is Linda Kuzyk (Kuzyk rhymes with Music). I have
been an elementary educator for thirty-one years. My love
for teaching is still very strong. My love for learning
is yet stronger. When I am in (and out of) the classroom, "both" happens.
My passion is technology, followed very closely by science.
I also love literature and writing. I earned my B.S. from
The University of Maine in Farmington and my Masters from
The University of Maine in Orono. I was the state winner
for Technology Teacher of the Year from "Technology and Learning Magazine" in
1995, state winner for The Presidential Award for Excellence
in Elementary Science Teaching in 1996, and earned my National
Board Certification (Middle Level Generalist) in 1999.
My hobbies include painting with oils and writing (fiction
and poetry). I grew up on the coast of Maine (Mount Desert
Island) and moved to the mountains when a teaching opportunity
arose back in 1969. I have been here ever since. I get
back to the ocean often enough so that that part of me
stays alive and well.
My husband, Peter, is the technology coordinator for our
school district. Together, we have a chow-chow named Bear,
whom we call Woogie, and five adorable cats, lovingly referred
to as my "babies with fur." My children are all grown now.
My son, Christopher Torrey, manages a Patagonia Store in Bar Harbor, and my daughter,
Cynthia Torrey is still a college student who is taking a break to "find herself."
