For those of you who have
just enrolled in a New Teacher Online Survival
Course, you probably want to know more about
this learning format. We hope that this information
will help to get you started in your new online
classroom! If you should need more information
than what is provided here, please contact your
district manager.
Is
there a text for the course?
New
Teachers Handbook
is the required text for all courses. The companion
CD-ROMs are also required. Successful
Teaching Practices in Action
covers "Classroom Management," "Cooperative
Groups," and "Aligning Standards, Curriculum
and Assessment." A bonus clip, "Cinderella,
A New Teacher's Tale," is included. More
Successful Teaching Practices in Action
matches "Teaching Methods," "Strategic Planning,"
and "Families as Partners."
What
are the system requirements for taking online
courses?
Hardware
You'll
need your own computer or reliable access to
a computer with internet access.

Player (such as Windows Media, Real Player,
Quick Time)
Since
several of the courses require you to view video
online you will also need to make sure that
you have a media player on your computer that
will play the video files found online.
How
do I access my course?
Logon
to your course from http://www.teachersnetwork.org/NOC.
If you have forgotten your username of password
click on this link and type in the e-mail address
that you used when you registered: Forgot
your password? An e-mail will be sent
to that e-mail address with your username and
password.
Where
do I get my course syllabus?
All
of your course materials are available in your
online course area.
