Our Five Senses
How did you modify this unit for use in your own classroom?: I modified the project by substituting the egg shakers for musical instruments. We also made tambourines and had a parade.

Students will share the different sounds they could hear with their ears and what sounds they might hear in different places such as the zoo, park, or a school. |

What role did technology play in this curriculum unit?: Children will use Kid Pixs to draw and create an instrument they may have heard from the guessing game.
How did you assess and evaluate student performance?: Children are asked what sense they need to use to determine what instrument is being played.
Students will name different sounds they hear in the park, zoo, or in school.
Please tell us briefly about your background & teaching experience: Ms. Gong-Zhang has been teaching at P.S. 124 for the past 10 years. The first 8 years she taught kindergarten and the last 2 years have been in Pre-k.
What are your recommendations for other teachers interested in adapting this unit?: To adapt the lesson even more, teachers can create different instruments.
Also, instead of using egg shakers, teachers can create a recording of different sounds that the children can listen to and guess what the sounds are.
